[00:00:03] Speaker A: Y. Yo, what up, bro? Y' all stand for O.T. yeah. Nah, get that bread, bro. Y' all gotta stay for O.T. listen up, workers. Overtime is mandatory this weekend. No excuses. [00:00:23] Speaker B: Let me work. [00:00:25] Speaker A: Please let me work. Let me work. Please let me. [00:00:36] Speaker B: I'm a member of O. Like that Omega sci Fi fraternity. [00:00:41] Speaker A: Greta the Tittle tattle prattled on about the little metal bottle. She spat a bit of spittle on the modern brittle cattle in a bitter battle. Hey, hey. [00:00:48] Speaker C: Stop questioning my methods, okay? [00:00:50] Speaker A: I was chosen for this task for a very good reason. No, she chose. [00:01:06] Speaker D: 5.7 left, no timeouts remaining. Anobi is handed the ball, finds Brunson at midcourt, launches a straight on three. Missed it. Short tipped by Anunoby. [00:01:25] Speaker B: Partly home court advantage as those fans have the right to stand and be as engaged as they'd like on that baseline. [00:01:31] Speaker D: Bridges on Basell, Hart on Castle. Robinson on Wembanyama. Pass toward the middle. Caught by Castle. Dropped by Castle. His shot is blocked by hard. And the New York Knicks just pulled off the biggest comeback win in NBA Finals history. They take a 31 series lead. [00:02:00] Speaker B: This team continues to be and demonstrate that they are a team of destiny. It's been two years of the phrase we will find a way. And man, add more history to the books. Overcoming a 29 point hole in front of these fans, these New York Knicks fans at home who deserve to be able to celebrate with their team. And as euphoric as this is, I'mma be the one to say it. Job's not done. [00:02:57] Speaker D: Now. [00:02:58] Speaker A: Rapping basketball number one, Curtis. [00:03:01] Speaker D: Flow basketball. [00:03:11] Speaker A: Go. [00:03:45] Speaker C: Don't ever go with the flow. Be the flow. And I don't need no middleman to talk. But to my niggas, I understand if you don't understand. I figure I'm jigger. That's where we differ. I take what's mine, you accept what they give you, I get you. I don't take no checks. I take my respect. Carell even told me go with the safest bet. Jimmy Iovine offered a safety net around a crazy check. I feel like YouTube is the biggest corporate. Them niggas pay you a tip of what you supposed to get. You know niggas die for equal pay, right? You know when I work, I ain't your slave, right? You know I ain't shucking and jiving and high five. But you know this ain't like that. Well, I can't tell how the way they killed Freddie Gray right shot Mike Brown how they did Trey right. Let him continue choking. We gonna Turn style. I ain't your token. Something like that. Something like that. You know, I came in this game. Independent, right? Title, my own label. Same difference. Oh, niggas are skeptical when it's their own shit. You bought nine iPhones and Steve Jobs. Rich Phil Knight's worth trillions. You still bought those kicks. Spotify's 9 billion. They ain't say shit. Lucy, you got some splaining to do. The only one they hating on look the same as you. That's cool. I know they trying to bamboozhou you. Spending millions on media trying to confuse you. I had to talk to myself. Hope you used to. It's politics as usual. [00:06:07] Speaker A: Let me work. Please, let me work. Here it is a groove slightly transformed. Just a bit of a break from the norm. Just a little something to break the monotony. Let's break up that monotony. And if it ain't broke, then don't try to. What? [00:06:41] Speaker C: And think of the summers of the past. [00:06:43] Speaker A: Adjust the. It's a good summer so far, y'. All. Wouldn't y' all agree? What's happening? What's happening, everybody? All my peoples in a place to be. Your main man, DJ Highstar here with another episode of Mandatory Overtime. I appreciate y' all joining me here. The aim here, mandatory overtime, of course, is for us to recalibrate and. And just discuss our definition of manhood and what manhood means to us in the community. The community, of course, that consists of you all. You know, I'm trying to define it with each conversation with the community, is what I meant to say. But simply an audio journal of an 80s, baby. A social experiment. Inconsistency. Could have been anywhere in the world. But you're here listening to me. For that, I appreciate you. Appreciate you. All right. Don't get it confused with the manosphere is just a place where the man is fair. So pull up a chair like comment, subscribe, share, engage as well. But make some noise, y'. All. Cause your main man is here. You heard? Reporting live from the 704, Charlotte. America was hanging like that. Like that. Even though we in Charlotte, we still got some orange and blue skies going on out here. Shout out to the Russian sound engineer In a check, 1, 2. A check, 1, 2. Like that. Let's go to work. What's up, y'? All? I heard in the intro. It's been going on in the league, but we're gonna get to all of that stuff. We're gonna get some Nick's talk here in a second, but. Yeah, how's Everybody doing? I hope everyone's doing well. Salute to all of our new listeners. Shout out again and brotherly love to El Hodge. Brotherly love to T Dog, if you're out there listening as well, my brother, Any other new listeners that we may have out there, shout out to y', all, man. Appreciate y' all tuning in. Appreciate the listen. Yeah. And let's go to work. I guess last week, very interesting episode. I first and foremost wanna pat myself on the back for the title of the intro of the episode, Pick N Picnics. That was fire. That was fire. All right. For those that didn't tune in, you're late. But tune in to last week's episode, you know, and we got a special guest that came in and dropped the freestyle from the picnic, the Roots picnic. But then we pick Nicks over here. Y' all know what time it is, man. Picnics. Picnics. Shout out to all picnics. Yes, man. Salute to the New York Knicks. Though we are currently ahead in the finals 3 to 1 against the San Antonio spurs. It feels like we've been playing the spurs and the referees at times. The referees and the officiating itself in general, it just gotta. I mean, I've called it out a while ago, but now it's in the forefront. We've got officials that are doing interviews on First Take and. And ESPN and stuff. That's how you know something is off. That's how you know. So whatever. It won't really. I won't really get into the officiating side of stuff. We'll worry about what the teams can control for the most part. But, yeah, it's been real ugly out there. We're gonna get to talking about some basketball, though. We're gonna talk about basketball here in a minute. I'm trying to think of any revisions from last week that I have. Not off the top or just off of memorizing. I can't think of any. So with that in mind, I know the normal order of events and stuff like that. So let's get straight to it. What's today's mathematics, Yo? [00:11:01] Speaker E: No disrespect, but we ain't in all of that, son. Build, Destroy. The builders. To elevate the mentalities of self and those around self to add positive energy to every nation. To build, you must first start from the root, which is the knowledge foundation, and add on to the highest peak. To destroy is to eliminate and destroy any and all negativity that enters my cipher of supreme harmony. [00:11:23] Speaker A: Peace, God. [00:11:24] Speaker E: Peace, God. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Come on, son. But do the Knowledge. I know you gonna dig this. All right, so this week, I wanted to go ahead and start off with brother Taz. Shout out to my frat brother Taz. He dropped some stuff in a group chat this week. Starting off with some words from Confucius. It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop. All right, so we gotta start this. Hey, you don't fall in the left, champ. Okay, but I see where you were going with that. We see what Confucius meant, but still, you know, just where appropriate. So, yeah, okay. It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. It's crazy. That sounds a little flagrant. But we gonna let it ride. We're gonna let it exist, I guess. I can't see. Let it ride. All right, y', all, let's go to Cousin Jerome. Let's bring some kind of calm back to the situation. All right? So on donut. On National Donut Data, slash Friday, okay? National Donut Day was last Friday. You can't buy happiness, but you can buy donuts. And that's pretty much the same thing. I agree. Church. All right. On Monday. Monday, Best Friend Day. Message. I don't understand. There's certain themes of the days that Cousin Jerome's sending, but nevertheless, this is supposedly a quote from Winnie the Pooh. It's not what we have, but who we have. All right, I can dig that. I don't really gotta. We don't gotta part in the left on that. But, you know, when you're being mature about. About, you know, this information, and you don't got a partner left on that one. It's not what we have, but who we have. So I like that one. All right, here we go. This is from Mary Schmidt Schmick on behalf of Cousin Jerome. This one reads good. Art is art that allows you to enter it from a variety of angles and to emerge with a variety of views. I like that. I like that. Variety of angles and variety of views is questionable for y'. All. That's being childish out there. All right, Let me just say that for everybody being childish, it's a part in the left. But if you just. All right, let's be mature. All right, Cousin Jerome. Appreciate that. Then we got some information here. I like when Cousin Jerome drops. This type of information in the group chat is not always a quote or a parable or things like that proverb or something, but sometimes it's just information. So Wisdom Wednesday reads, Dr. Effie O' Neill Ellis. Dr. Effie O'. Neill Ellis is the first African American woman to hold an executive position in the American Medical Association. In 1989, Ellis was inducted to Chicago's Women's hall of Fame for her efforts in improving the lives of the black community and helping to lower infant mortality rates. So salute. Salute. Salute. Shout out to Dr. Effie O' Neill Ellis. Now, we do have some more wisdom that I am going to read. This one will be on behalf of Fat Boy. Oh, yeah, y'. All. Yeah. Make some noise. Fat Boy as he is resurfaced. Pause. And he's written into the show. So I'm gonna go ahead and read the email. But it does include some. It does include some wisdom in there. So give me one second while we pull this up and read that email from Fat Boy. Here we go. All right. The email's titled A Lot to unpack. Peace. High Star, mandatory ot. It's been a minute since I last wrote in your boy. Been busy. With that being said, I got a lot to unpack. Wisdom. The right things are not running from you. They are being prepared for you. Nice. Doubt is just faith. Pointed in the wrong direction. Redirected. Love that. Right? And then you don't need to see the path, just to trust the direction. All right, sweet. Moving forward. Out for lunch. I know High Star might talk about this, but allow me to elaborate a little bit. High Star broke out the Oklahoma Joe the other day. Hold on, y'. [00:16:06] Speaker D: All, [00:16:11] Speaker A: Make some noise. Make some noise out there. All right, back to regular schedules. High Star broke out the Oklahoma Joe the other day, and I must say myself, the jerk chicken was crazy. Most jerk chicken I indulge usually will burn you up. Then he said, pardon the left. Right? It'll burn you up. But this was fire. No burn. Just all savor the flavor. Lmao. So salute. And then he chop it up like the rib man. We'll get to that in a second. If you know, you know. All right, good. My boy. That's what he says. Random thoughts. If we are playing poker and I'm the dealer, please don't ask me what game we're playing. If your blind is not up, or your auntie if y'. All. If that's how y', all, you know, I mean, talk Pokemon, then don't proceed to catch an attitude with me after I ask you to put your blind up like my boy. It's not that serious. Nah. But for real, you're not even in the game to ask me what game we playing. Out of here, Bubba. Excuse me? Yeah, Bubba and By the way, you bothering the of me. All right. Okay. All right. Moving forward. Pardon. Pardon. Pardon. NBA Finals. I'm sending this email right before game four. I want the Knicks to handle business tonight. I would hate to have a best of three series. Could get ugly. Excuse me. Y' all get ugly. Knicks in six. Lastly, I want to tell everyone to love on your people. You never know when you can't love them anymore. I've had my trials and tribulations this year, so keep loving on your people. Fat Boy, out of here. Appreciate the email, Fat Boy. Per usual, we're gonna go through this. Back through this real quick. But definitely appreciate the email. Appreciate the engagement before we go back through the email. If y' all want to email the show. Oh, Hodge, we still looking for you, brother. Your introduction. All right, this might be a little initiation. It's your introduction to the. The community. But anybody else that wants to email the community or call in, feel free to email us. Mandatory ot704gmail.com Again, mandatory ot704gmail.com Mandatory ot704gmail.com Or you could give us a call. 704-781-7011. And we'll make sure that the message gets played on air. 704-781-7011. All right, make sure y' all are engaging in all of that stuff and interacting with us, but salute to Fat Boy once more. Gonna go through his email real quick. Again, thank you again for the building wisdom that you blessed us with at the beginning, my boy. It's been a minute since he last wrote in and busy. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. We all have. Certainly the right things are not running from you. They are being prepared for you. I love that. So it's more of a thing of acceptance and controlling what you can control and not, I don't know, not questioning things that are not for you. In other words, so if something doesn't work out your way, whether it's a job, a relationship, or whatever, it's not thinking to yourself, like, why don't I have this? Or try to chase it down. Because why would it run for. Why. Why would it run from you if it is being prepared for you? So salute for that first piece of wisdom. Thank you, Fat Boy. Then doubt is just faith pointed in the wrong direction. Redirect your. I guess, redirect the faith. Okay? Point the faith in the right direction, and that'll fix the doubt. I love that. All right, then you don't need to see the path. Just trust the Direction. So I like that as well. It reminds me of. Reminds me of faith, but also, like, there's like. Like social experiments and stuff out there of people that navigate stuff where they're completely blind. Right. Or examples of, like, Jamie Foxx method acting for Ray Charles and they physically taped his eyes shut where he's forced to use his other senses and stuff. And. And rely less on how much we depend on our vision. So saying you don't need to see the path, just trust the direction. In other words, trust your discernment, trust your gut, your intuition, and again, that you're going in the right direction. I like that. That again, we revisited for. Out for lunch. He did introduce it, so I didn't have to. Oklahoma Joe, y'. [00:21:22] Speaker D: All. [00:21:23] Speaker A: We went ahead and broke that out. Yeah. This past weekend, went ahead and broke out the. Oklahoma Joe's got the smoker going. All right. I think we use some pecan. I had some pecan wood that we were smoking and. And pardon the left on any of this stuff because we about to talk barbecue. All right, so there's gonna be a lot of. Gonna be saying meats and wood burning the wood. All of that stuff is about to happen. Okay, so let's just do this, I guess, for the full. All right. But yeah, so had hickory wood or, like, wood chunks or whatnot to smoke. Not wood chips. I guess they burn a little bit longer or whatnot for you easier because it's like one piece. Put that on the offset smoker, man, and let the chicken ride. Now, also, for poker night, I believe I did a beer can chicken as well. So sat a whole little young bird on top of a can of beer. Mind you, of course, you rinse the beer can off and everything before sitting the chicken on there. But pour out a little bit of that beer and you put all of your. Your flavor, your herbs and stuff like that. So it has some poultry blend that has some, like, rosemary and thyme and stuff like that that I was able to put in there. Now, also, garlic. Just fun fact. Garlic, it makes that beer react differently. So it starts foaming up, and it'll start, you know, coming out of the beer can, just FYI. But did a beer can chicken. But what fat boy is referring to is the jerk chicken that we did. So it was leg quarters. Set the leg quarters down on the grill, let them smoke up for what, I don't know, maybe an hour, hour and a half or whatever. So he's looking nice, right. Then went ahead and put some jerk sauce on there on the left. We already talked about this, y'. [00:23:18] Speaker D: All. [00:23:19] Speaker A: But put some jerk sauce on there as far as, like, jerk barbecue sauce and let it chill on the smoke a little bit more. Now, when I pulled them off, I had them placed on chopping board and chopped them up. That's what he means when he says or is alluding to, and then he chop it up like the rib man. So however these food trucks be or like the real Jamaican restaurants out here be when they chopping up jerk chicken, that's how we had it as far as presentation wise. So definitely fire. I like. I like that people was paying attention to the flavor. So he says, like, normally, and he indulges, the jerk chicken will burn you up, partner. Left champ. But this was fire. No burn. Just all savor the flavor. So, yeah, it was a lot of smoky flavor you got in there. And then the jerk flavor on the outside with the barbecue sauce. It was just a nice vibe. It was a nice vibe, if I could say so myself. Salute. Salute to DJI Star. Now, with that going into that, again, that was for poker night. So, again, and this is what. This didn't happen this past week, but it says, if we're playing poker and I'm the dealer, don't ask me what game we're playing if your blind is not up. Okay? So I can appreciate that. So when, you know, when we're playing these games and stuff, you got the Annie or whatnot, you got Annie up like. Like the song says, and put up your Annie or put up your blind and, you know, regular, kind of the standard order of things. You want the dealer to kind of be running the show. So the dealer is going to kind of give out directions set in this. It's. It's a. It's a thing of order. Some. A lot of people, like, order. So let's get the blinds out. Let's make them sure the money is right on the table. Like, this is money that. That is coming on the table regardless, is being put on the table regardless. So let's get the money on the table or whatnot. The Annie, we can move forward. And that's how a lot of people operate. I mean, let alone in, like, casinos or different tournaments and stuff like that. So at a home game, I could see where it can get contemptuous, Right? But, yeah, Fat boy is definitely alluding to a little. Little situation a couple weeks ago at one of the poker nights. But it was. It was pieced up and everything like that, but it was definitely something. It was an interesting situation. I Guess I would say. But now it's kind of living in lore as an inside joke amongst us and the poker crew. But, yeah, yeah, essentially, Fat Boy was dealing. He was asking people to put their blinds up, and people had an issue with how he was talking to them, so it turned into like a fake argument or something like that. I don't know, man. I don't know what we doing, man. But it's cool, though. It's cool. Shout out to Fat Boy. Shout out to the poker crew. Hard hat. Big Cliff. Oh, partner. Love on the hard hat or T, dog. All right, Q. Okay. Brotherly love and all right. So, yeah, salute. Let's see. Let's move right, right along in the email, though. All right, so, yeah, NBA Finals again. He sent this email before game for yesterday or the day before yesterday, really. I want the Knicks to handle business tonight. I hate to have a best of three series. She could get ugly Nixon six. All right, so. All right, thank you, brother. Is that's a Miami Heat fan right there. But thank you, brother. Appreciate you. I, I, you know, dude fake pressed me at the job about me choosing the Knicks, and he put us on camera, me and Sock. I said, Nick's in five when he put me on camera. So if and when it does come to fruition, I already told him he got to wear these Knicks jerseys, you heard? And yeah, and we're gonna take some pictures. I want to take a picture or a video where he's playing back. My prediction if that does happen. But, but yeah, at the, at the job is, is gotten. It's gotten exhausting becoming a Nick Sater, y'. All. I thought that I warned everybody before. I thought I warned everybody, man. You know what? Let it get more exhausting. I don't care. All right, so let's see here. Lastly, I want to tell everyone to love on your people. You never know when you can't love them anymore. I had trials and tribulations this year, so keep loving on your people. Yeah, that's my brother, too, Fat Boy. So, so I know exactly, you know, everything he's alluding to, but I definitely concur and agree with what he's saying. Love on your people, certainly. But again, Fat Boy, appreciate the engagement, my brother. Most importantly, brotherly love to you, my brother, and everything with the growth partner left, champ. And yeah, man, appreciate you again for writing into the show again, y'. All. If you want to engage with the show or interact with the show, feel free to email us my mandatory ot704gmail.com mandatory ot704gmail.com or give us a call 704-781-7011 and we'll make sure that your message is heard on air. Right. Appreciate y' all for that. Let's go ahead and move forward real quick. All right, man. So before we can because again, we're going to talk basketball before we talk basketball, I do want to take care of some housekeeping. Right? This is a responsible platform. Mandatory overtime. We know our aim every week. It's redefining manhood and recalibrating our definition of manhood. Part of that is staying informed if it's unfortunate news or not. So I was Outside of all the good lore and the good news and stuff with the Knicks and all of the basketball stuff going on, there are certain things going on in our nation still. Plenty, of course, right. For us to wrap our minds around and stuff. But as a black man, you heard there's two specific stories this past week that have come up resurfaced that I feel we definitely need to speak about, at least on our platform and be responsible on our platform. So the first situation occurred in 2023 down in Columbia, South Carolina. But this situation has somewhat not not been concluded. But I'll just read this story from WIS 10 news website but Rick Chow found not Guilty of murder in the death of Cyrus Carmack Belton first and foremost want to say rest in peace to Cyrus Carmack Belton. All right, and then let's go ahead and read the article again. WIS WIS 10 reports a jury found Rick Chow, a former Columbia area gas station owner, not guilty in the shooting death of 14 year old Cyrus Cyrus Carmack Belton in May 2023. The decision came after over eight hours of deliberation on Monday, including instances in which the jury as list for instructions to be clarified to them. In the end, they handled down. They handed down a unanimous not guilty decision nearly a week after the trial began. We're very pleased at the jury's deliberations and their verdict, one of Chow's attorneys, Jack Swirling, said Monday night. We think it was the appropriate verdict in this case, although it was a difficult decision to come to because you have two different stories to the extreme, to the extremes. It was a verdict that was met with relief from the defense and anguish from members of Carmack Belton's family. In the courtroom, prosecutors argued Carmack Belton was fatally shot in the back after being falsely accused of stealing a water bottle from Child's former store on Park Lane Road in May, 2023. That's about 15 minutes from Ashton, by the way. Shout out to Ashton. Evidence shown in court also shows. Also showed Chow and his son Andy chase the teen over 100 yards away. Child's defense asserted that Carmack Belton pointed a gun at Andy, causing Rick to respond by firing the fatal shot. Andy took the stand in his father's defense Friday, saying he yelled to his father that Carmack Belton had a gun before putting his hands up and backing away. It was never disputed whether Carmack Belton had a gun, but it was argued whether or not he posed a threat. Let's pause right there. It's a black man in Columbia, South Carolina. He posed a threat to y', all, man. Come on, man. This melanin, this melanin poses a threat to y'. All. But nevertheless, let's keep going. Ciao. Who's been behind bars since 2023 arrest, since his 2023 arrest, is expected to be released from jail after being processed. Process attorney Todd Rutherford, representing Carmack Belton's family, said Monday night that they will continue pursuing civil action. The anger is palpable tonight, he said, standing behind Cyrus's father, Troy Belton. You can feel it. You can touch it, because people saw a child, it looked like their own. It did nothing wrong with a child that all the witnesses described that fear in his eyes when he left the store. Store. Richland county deputies were also seen Monday night parked at Charles former store putting up tape near the gas pumps. So they still set in that, that gas station over there. They still wilding out over there, letting the message be heard. But like I said, first and foremost, and started off with rest in peace to the brother, Cyrus Carmack Belton, again, he was wrongly accused of stealing a water and then chased out of the store. After being chased out of the store, he trips a gun, falls out of his backpack or from his person himself. The son of the store owner screams back to his father that he has a gun, and then the, the child is shot. I say child because the brother was what, 14 years old in May 2023. So, yeah, rest well. Prayers, prayers go out to your family, certainly, and justice. We, we're going to be looking for justice, certainly seeking justice in that civil case. But, yeah, you know, it is what it is. I, I, yeah, yeah, I've seen a lot of backlash or a lot of fallout of blacks boycotting Asian stores and Asians feeling the, the heat of that. But, hey, it's figure this thing out. Let's figure this thing out. I mean, that's the sometimes the only way that we can make our voices be heard or whatnot is with our dollars, right? So now secondly, again, it's a little heavy before we get into the Knicks talk and everything like that, but Texas teen sentenced 35 years for killing fellow student at athletics event all right. Texas teenager accused of fatally stabbing one of his peers at a high school athletics event in the Dallas area was found guilty by a jury on Tuesday. The racially polarizing trial of Carmelo Anthony no relation to Stay Mellow. This is with a k over the April 2025 death April 2025 death of Austin Metcalf, which drew national attention, sparking a debate about self defense and school safety. Both were 17 at the time of this incident. Prosecutors argued that Anthony threatened Metcalfe before he intentionally killed him, while defense lawyers argued that Anthony was acting in self defense. Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison. The young men were at a secondary school track meet when the incident happened. Metcalf's death was the result of a dispute that escalated between the two rival secondary schools, according to police reports. Students testified at the trial about the heated exchange between the two, describing a rainy day on which Anthony refused to leave a tank that belonged to Metcalf's team. Though Anthony was 17 at the time of the murder on April 2, 2025, under Texas law, he was able to be charged as an adult. The death penalty was not considered as Anthony was a minor at the time of Metcalf's death. Throughout the trial, prosecutors called nearly two dozen witnesses concentrating their evidence. Two dozen witnesses with who? None of them were black, by the way, concentrating their evidence on eyewitness testimony. Testimonies One of the most emotional testimonies came from Collin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Elizabeth Ventura, who described a large, gaping wound in Metcalf's chest and said the knife had pierced his heart. The prosecution Student witnesses described Anthony as the aggressor. The defense the defense also called multiple witnesses, including students and track holders coach Adam Linwood, who said Anthony had been nominated for the role of team captain. Anthony did well in school with near perfect grades. They gave him a 4.0 grade point average, according to a Dallas area news affiliate. The two young men did not attend the same school and had no prior connection. Prosecutors say Anthony did not testify during the trial, but his mother took the stand during the sentences sentencing portion and said her son was sorry as she asked for mercy. On Tuesday, the Texas jury reached a guilty verdict in less than three hours. The Judge had allowed them to consider lesser charges of manslaughter, which would have carried a shorter sentence of up to 20 years in prison. But they did not choose it. The tragedy flooded social media with some making the case about race. Of course, Anthony. Carmelo Anthony is black. And then Metcalf, the victim was white. [00:37:35] Speaker D: Fight. [00:37:35] Speaker A: But lawyers for both sides told the jury the killing was not about race. The civil rights organization Next Generation Action Network, which had advocated for Anthony, noted that not one juror was black. Our community has carried the weight of this tragedy for more than a year, and our thoughts remain with the impacted families, friends and classmates, the Frisco school district said in a statement after the verdict. [00:38:01] Speaker D: Verdict. [00:38:01] Speaker A: We respect the judicial process and will continue to support our students with compassion and care. We know this trial has brought strong emotions and deep grief, and we ask that our community continue to support each other with respect, sensitivity, and understanding. Yeah, all right. Yeah. So I'm not going. I can't get my. I don't know. I can't get my real thoughts on that. Like, I don't. Respect. I don't know. I don't know. Respect, sensitivity and understand it. Respect. Santa. Shut the man. Shut the man. All right. I' ma just say we don't know exactly what happened, but initially, when the story first broke, the accounts were that Metcalf had a brother and that Metcalf and his brother were bully. Austin Metcalf and his brother were bullying Carmelo Anthony. That was the initial reports. I won't get into the weeds with all of that and the details and stuff like that, that. The fact remains, though, Metcalf is. Has succumbed to stab wounds, and Anthony is being held responsible for it and will be currently facing 35 years or sentenced to 35 years for the. For the incident. So wanted to bring both incidents up just to publicly pray for these gentlemen and their families, of course, but to just shine a light back on. On what's really happening. Right. We got a lot of pomp and circumstance going on with the NBA Finals and with sports in general, the Stanley cup, the World cup, with soccer. A lot of stuff is going on, distractions wise. The UFC thing is supposed to happen at the White House, whatever. So we want to go ahead and refocus back on what's. What's important, especially with our community and what's real. I don't know where. How we go forward as far as with the Carmelo Anthony situation. Again, from all accounts that I heard initially, it's a young brother that was standing up for himself. And I was defending himself against somebody and him. Like, again, the Metcalf kid and his brother were both present at this track meet. So I didn't know what threat did they pose to Anthony. But again, there's an argument to be made if Anthony should have took the stand and testified or not. And you know, that, that, that's in the air. But I did want to bring this to light and offer, you know, our audience the opportunity to engage, interact and let me know y' all thoughts on this, you know what I mean? So again, feel free to email us mandatory ot704gmail.com or give us a call. 704-781-7011. And then when it comes to the Cyrus situation, the gentleman that was in Colombia, I remember when that occurred. Again, like I said, Ashton, he didn't stay too far from where all of that was happening at. So I definitely remember when that happened. And it's, that's a sad situation as well. The, the young brother was chased out of the store. Again, did not steal anything, but had a firearm on him. And intent is a big thing nowadays. Like what? I guess how you look or your intent whenever you're going into these stores, you know, but no one, especially Cyrus, he definitely didn't deserve to lose his life, life that day. I hear that if it was recharged, perhaps Rick Chow would have been found guilty under a different charge and not murder, perhaps manslaughter or things like that. But what's done is done. Again, our melanin is always going to be seen as threatening to anybody. And especially if you have a sense of, of who you are and self knowledge, you're definitely going to be seen as a threat. So stay vigilant out there, my brothers and sisters, and let's keep these families in our prayers, these families that are in our community, in our prayers and continue to do what we can do and that's in our control. As far as boycotting any of these, you know what I mean, Asian stores, Asian gas stations. If you, if you feel that way, I'm not mad if you feel that way. If you don't, I don't. I don't. I'm not mad at you. [00:42:31] Speaker D: You. [00:42:31] Speaker A: I'm not mad at you. I know what, I know what type of time I'm about to be on, you heard? But yeah. Salute. Salute to those. Ah, man. Ah, it's just tough. That's. That's heavy. That's, that's tough. So I wanted to go ahead and we will move forward here See, and while we're talking about Carmelo Anthony, this is random thoughts that I had this week before we get to the next mix. But Carmelo Anthony, the brother's name is Carmelo Anthony, right? Stay mellow. But I was thinking about different names that have been created since I've been alive. Follow me, y'. All. Stay with me. So. And not, like, names that. That people just have morphed together or, like, produced on their own, but names that one person is made famous, and then you've seen one a flock of people following afterwards. So I would love Yalls feedback and follow up on this as well, but more, the most popular one that comes to mind when I think about this topic or subject is Jaylen. So you think about, of course, Jalen Rose. But then, you know, all of the Jalens that we have in the NBA, y' all remember that song that I played and stuff like that. But Jalen Rose, he said that. That. That hospital that he was born at reported that he was the first jailing a lot. So there's something to. Something to look at, right? Something to think of. So this other two that I have that I'm going to mention, and y' all write in or call in and let me know some of the names that y' all feel like have become popular, very popular after, let's say, you know, a celebrity or somebody like that has held it down. So Jalen, Nasir. I have. Come on, y'. All. Nasir. Nas or Nasir. I've seen a lot of young, Young, you know, kings named Nasir. Shaquille. Shaquille. I've seen Shaquille's. A lot of Shaquille since Shaquille o'. Neal. All right? And then I'm kind of back and forth about Rakim, but I' ma say Rakim as well. I'm gonna put. I'm gonna include Rakim in. Not just because of ASAP Rocky and. And their child and everything like that. [00:44:56] Speaker E: Because. [00:44:56] Speaker A: Because ASAP Rocky, his name is Rakim. But. And then they've got a child, I believe, named Rocking. But I just. Yeah, I just feel like that that's an honorable mention. But nevertheless, anybody else that has any. Any names that have become popular in our generation or our era, feel free to write the show and let us know. I mean, I don't know if I would include Navia with that or Nevaeh. I don't. I don't know if I would include that in there, but I feel like Nevaeh got popping around 90s late 90s and stuff like that. Early 2000s, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm open to being wrong now. Let's get to it, man. Let's get to this, man. I mean, last, last week, last week we got into a lot of gangsters, all right? This week I wanted to get into some gentlemen, you know, perhaps gentlemen. Gentlemanly sweeping, perhaps, Perhaps, perhaps gentlemanly sweeping. What am I talking about? The New York Knicks, baby. We're up 3 to 1 on the San Antonio Spurs. We will be playing games, game five in San Antonio tomorrow, Saturday, was that June 13th? So we will be playing there tomorrow. Go New York, go New York, go. All right, there is one more, one more win before I could play that song here on air. It's a couple notes that I have put down about the game though. We just hosted two games in Madison Square Garden. First and foremost, two finals games, two NBA Finals games in the Garden. Shout out. So the first game, Game three, President Trump, he attended that game, had Oligarch Central, of course, Celebrity Raul, quote unquote. More like celebrity arena out there. So the Knicks, they lost that game, Game three. I had a problem with a lot of the officiating in that game and the stuff that was going on. It was a lot of questionable things that happened in that game to, in the spurs favor in my opinion. But at the same time, the Knicks, we were playing sloppy basketball, weren't playing championship basketball and basketball has gotten us, you know, this far in the playoffs. So we did give give away a game. Game three, Game four comes up and we go back to that game. Long story less long. The Knicks go down by 29 points, 25 at the half I believe, but up to 29 points and we come back from the 29 point deficit, overcome that, overcome any kind of officiating issues or anything like that. The gold tendon on Alvarado in the, the offensive basket, interference by Wemby on his own put back. But we overcame all of that to come out, come back from behind and win by 1.106105 that evening. Now there was a controversial over and back call that wasn't called on Alvarado. They saying that his jersey was grad and that he was fouled before he could. His body went over and back as far as on the half court line line. The basketball was able to that the rule is that you have to have both your body and the basketball over and back. So that's what occurred there. But still salute to The Knicks for taking care of business, we're up 3:1 again for losing, for winning this last game. It's, it's all everyone's talking about. Of course, it's another record that the Knicks have broken once again. Okay, so it's more, more record breaking stuff, but the, the narratives, they continue to come in, in sports media. And the question, so the question when you woke up the, the morning after this win was did the Knicks triumph and come back and overcome this deficit or did the spurs choke away the win? And overwhelming responses that the spurs choked away the win. It's fair. Whatever. Y' all have y' all thoughts on it. But I will say this. The Celtics, if that's the case, and yes, I am saying the Celtics, but the Celtics choked away two wins last postseason. Then if that's the case, all right, Atlanta choked away a series last, you know, the first round. Cleveland choked away, that game, won. If we talking about, like, it's, it's, isn't it a coincidence that the same common denominator for all of these quote unquote chokes by these teams is the Knicks winning and some a majority of the time winning on the road? I'll be honest with y', all, these ain't even home comeback joints. But now this most recent one, we were at home, all right? We came back 29 down, showed the grit, the fight. We fought back. These other wins that we've had and we come back from, we silence, crowds. All right, We've taken hearts. I'm just saying. Dismantle franchises. I'm just saying. So we came back from 29 down and start trying to keep this all together. And we won that game. Like I said, we play. I've mentioned this before, we play San Antonio. Well, all of our games this season have been super close. The one game that we did lose to San Antonio, well, the, the one game that was not close, we blew them out in Madison Square Garden. The one game that we lost to San Antonio, we lost, I believe it was 133 to 131. And with when we lost, it was, let's see here, a last minute three by Jalen Brunson. That made it as close as it was. But I say that, and I always share that with people because that score itself when, when Jalen Brunson shot that, he was showing that we weren't out of the game or that we were never gonna, we were never going to quit and like, like call it in. We were gonna fight to the end. So that was a message in itself during this, during the season, the regular season that is showing up now. So salute on that. Like I can't find the score, the exact score from that regular season game. Matter of fact, I can. I can. My fault. Journalistic integrity here on the line. Let's see here. And then there's a couple other points that I do want to bring up with regards to the Spurs. The spurs matchup with the Knicks. So you got the New York element as well. Oh, looks like cornet is a game time decision with an illness. Oh boy. But you got the New York element with Stefan Castle and champagne on the, on the Spurs. And then also of course, Dylan Harper. These guys are all from, you know, from New York area. So they, they're looking forward to playing out there. They're looking forward to playing out there. Let's see here. All right, the regular season. So that game was 132 to 134. And then we of course won the NBA cup and we won on March 1, 114 to 189. I mean, excuse me, 114 to 89. So we lost 134 to 132 on New Year's Eve in San Antonio. Just goes back to my point that we, we always have played San Antonio very, very well. So the wins and stuff like that are not a huge surprise to me. But let's get to talking about some other stuff that's going on. So the price of the tickets. Want to bring that up? The price of the tickets. It feels like, like it's a. It's oligarchy on. Oligarchy on display. It's like an ol. It's. It's weird. It's weird to watch that game. It's a. It's dystopia of oligarchy. Now I'm going to name the exceptions real quick before we go in on Nyx and Dolan and his whole elitist regime type of thing going on. We're going to excuse the players, the former players. All right, the former players, the legacy. Then you got the media that has access in there. Gonna have media. That's cool. They're gonna have access. That's fine. And then the family and friends of the team. That's fine. That's great. Outside of that though, you've got trust fund kids and celebrities filling the arena up. Now granted, they're going to get loud. Yeah, sports and sports entertainment is exciting. So they are going to get loud. But were there true Knicks fans in there? I don't know about that. I don't know about that. Like, for y' all to put DJ Khaled in a front row, for him to be looking at his phone the whole time like, all right, Taylor Swift. I was coming in here, bro, to really fire your ass up. But I understand, you know, back when Mello was on the Knicks and stuff like that, you did cut some ads with us. You spent some time in New York. You, you perhaps are a Knicks fan. It just looks very funny in the light that you were just now celebrating Cleveland Cavs along with, with your fiance. So it's, it's just, it's just on some pick a side type of thing. All right? We can't, we can't trust you, Ma. We can't trust you. So nevertheless, the disgusting nature to me of all of those celebrities in the arena at once, while inflation is the highest that it has been and everybody is suffering. Granted, I'm a Knicks fan, so I love it. I love the fact that New Yorkers on are having a blast and New York is on fire and that, you know, the city is back and people is hooping. But it does not sit well with me that the cheapest seats, you know, that that's a news story, that seat tickets and ticket prices are a news story. It doesn't sit well with me at all. Cheapest seats being six grand or seven grand or five grand, whatever it is. Like, that's not, it's not cool. I don't like that at all. So, you know, whatever. I don't, I don't know what we could do to control that or to change that and stuff. But I wanted to voice my opinion about that. I think that that's disgusting. I think that it's, it's horrible that it reminds me of Coliseum times and where gladiators. Yeah, you'll be seen by the upper echelon and the elites can afford to get into the coliseums, but the peasants, they're all working on the outside and working around the Coliseum or whatever. So it does make me sick to see that type of oligarchy on display and elitism, but also it taints the game because we know how prevalent sports betting is and how legal sports betting is. So why wouldn't you. If you have a 20,000-seat arena and you're selling tickets for 5,000, 6,000 at the low end, the average ticket is. Ticket price might at be at $50,000 when you consider the higher end tickets and cost. Why, you know, the quote unquote capitalist is the Person that would, excuse me, the quote, unquote capitalist. Come on. Now. They're gonna say that that markup or that the price thing is a great business move and savvy and smart when it's just exploited. Expletive. And it's just exploiting the people, but whatever. So that. That's going on inside of the arena, right? This. This dystopian thing of everybody wanting to be in the building and this whole fear of. What is it called? Fear of FIFO or something. What is it called? Fear of missing out. Fomo. Fomo. That's what it is. But everybody having that and they have to be at the game and this and that. So I was talking to Ashton a little bit earlier today, and he's like, I just entertain, like if and when the Knicks win, going to the parade, and it's like, nah, I can't do that. I thought about it. It's like, no, I can't do that. But nevertheless, let's move forward with my next notes on the Knicks game. And forgive. Forgive me. This portion of the episode is being bought to you by Carolina Sports Talk. I'll be on the lookout, man. I'm taking Big Cliff. I don't want to over promise nothing. I'm not that guy. But nevertheless, it's being brought to you by Carolina Sports Talk. So the other thing, okay, Taylor Swift, all right, we had Nas in the building with the Tims or whatever. Cool buddy, select casino owner. You're good. You're good. Your money's good. Knicks fans. So they starting to bring up Knicks fans or whatever like that, and talk about, excuse me, the behavior of Nick's fans. And that's starting to become a news story. Oh, yeah, no. Miss me with all of that. All right. Okay. Miss me with all of that. Nays have called us the. The most crazy fan base and stuff like that since the beginning of the season. And now y' all are surprised when a San Antonio fan gets their jersey ripped off of them. Come on, man. Miss me with all of that. Or if. If Wemby and the team gets eggs thrown at their bus or throw at them. Come on, man. Y' all stop being soft out there, yo. All right? And then stop. Stop putting this blanket ambiguous label on. On these criminals or these people that are doing these crimes and stuff and saying, oh, all Knicks fans are horrible. You see what. You see what y' all do? Nick's fans. You see what happens whenever y' all win? Yeah, man, shut the, man. All right? Shut the. Things ain't trying to hear that. So, yeah, that there are reports and video out there, of course, of spurs fans getting into fights in New York, go figure, with a Spurs jersey on after a Knicks loss or after a Knicks win. But if you're in the crowd popping it or if you're a streamer and you're looking to just. What do they call that? Rage bait or whatever like that, then I can understand if hands and feet get put on you. But it's. It's not that serious. Ain't nobody get killed, nobody gets stabbed. Right? Right. Ain't nobody get chased out of a gas station and get shot in the back or nothing like that. Right. Ain't nobody have to fight for their life or whatnot because they was at a track meet under a tent. God forbid it'd be raining or whatnot. So listen, man, y' all stop being so soft about this old Knicks fan thing and stop labeling all of us about, you know, I can't even make it to the city right now. All right? So stop labeling all of us B. Go ahead and. And we got a couple other notes from. From the game, from game four. More specifically, let's see here. Says again, Nick's fifth game, coming back from 20 down. Y' all definitely look on. Be on the lookout for some literature that I'll be dropping. It's going to be called the art of three fence. I'm saying it here first. Saying it here first. Hey, the other three fence. The other three fence, y'. All. I'm not saying that the Knicks have figured it out. I'm just saying I got a sample size of a bunch of games, a bunch of examples from the past two to three seasons for the Knicks where they have defeated teams who have very, very strong three point, three point shooters, three point percentage and things like that. Okay, let's go ahead and move forward to San Antonio side of stuff. So, yes, sanitize. Is this a San Antonio collapse? Sure, whatever. However, the sports media has done a great job of pissing me off once again, and in its normal fashion that it normally does, like this is no surprise, but I've talked about this in the past and subjective nature of sports analysts, but also the prisoner of the moment nature of them. And one thing, whenever I was younger, that used to be a pet peeve of mine and that will always get under my skin is somebody challenging my intelligence. Anybody call me dumb or stupid or anything like that? I don't even like using those words. But whenever someone ever implied that I was or that I am, I took that tremendously, offensively, and like, personally. So the critique immediately following the game of the spurs team as a whole, it's from Charles Barkley, more importantly, or Wil Bond, or you go on. On social media, you've seen it everywhere. But calling them dumb, this is the dumbest thing that de' Aaron Fox did, the dumbest move in the world, and this is the dumbest choice. Listen, listen, listen, listen, y'. All. I don't know, man. I don't know. I can't regulate what people say, but I hated that. I hated that. I don't like, I don't like. These athletes put everything on the line for us every night, win, lose or draw. And this is being me being funky. I don't care. Knicks fan and all. But these athletes put everything on the line for us every night, and they're expected to perform at peak levels. They already receive a lot of flack because of how much they're being paid as far as contracts. So the expectation for them is at a high, high level. But at the end of the day, these are all humans. Everybody is subject to error and to messing up, to not having it all the way perfect. So I hate when people can take the stance of a Monday morning quarterback, or they could be in the perspective of, like. They could be in the perspective of this is what I would have did, or this is definitely what you should have did. And it's like, nah, bro. And when I say, I'm talking about Emmanuel Acho. All right, let's be for real. Okay, Acho. But now there's a lot of other critics of everything that went down, and I just wasn't a fan of how harsh. What, you know, this, this, all this name calling and stuff like that. Y' all talk about, you know, mental health and things like that all the time. And that. That's just not cool. It's not cool is. It's the dumbest play in the world. Now, mind you, now, Draymond Green, he's on inside the NBA and he's doing his commentating and everything like that. Listen, he is Draymond. He said his thing about Chuck the other week. Yeah, Chuck. Well, the goal is to not be look like you did in the Houston Rockets in Jersey, whatever. Everybody got in his ass after that or whatever like that, bruh. You know what I'm saying? Pretty much kind of let him know, like, bro, you don't got no legs. Stand on with that. Just relax. But everything Draymond does and talks about, always, he's on some Al Bundy yo, like, it's always back to Poke High and the glory days and the good old days. And that's. That's just what he goes back to. He always goes back to. Yeah, me, Steph and Clay. Yeah. Well, with me, Stephen, what Coach Kerr did. First of all, bro, those days are over. All right? Okay. It's a new sheriff attempt. Okay? His name's Mike Brown. But nevertheless, outside of those days being over, along with that, it's like, bro, you can't. You can't keep comparing stuff today. So, nevertheless, what am I. What am I talking about? He talks about the de' Aaron Fox situation toward the end of the game, and he's like. He's the one of the first people that I heard bring it up. But he compares it to JR Smith. JR Smith, by the way, brotherly love to JR Smith. All right, Brotherly love to our brother, Junior Smith, just graduating and getting his degree from North Carolina A and T out in Greensboro. But he's out there, J R Smith, Foreman Nick, by the way, minding his own business, probably. And Draymond just brings this up like, what's your deal, bro? That is corny. But anyway, so I say all of that to say that goes a part of the critique that was given to Deion Fox, that was given to Mitch Johnson, the coach, and also to Victor Wembanyama. So with the Aaron Fox, it was costly turnovers that he had at the end of the game. Game. But more importantly, on a steal or kind of a breakaway, loose ball that happened after Jalen Brunson missed, de' Aaron Fox, Chase chases the ball down and in. In one motion, he takes his, like, his steps, his gather steps, and he leaves his feet to go and shoot a layup. Gets blocked by OG Anunoby. But the criticism of him in that. That moment is that he should have took the ball, started to dribble the clock out, turn around, wait to get fouled, and all of this, listen, if you look at the player, continue to look at the play, you can. You can dictate what you would do all day long, but you're. Nah, there's nobody that could tell de' Aaron Fox what he should have done. Knowing the athlete that de' Aaron Fox is and knowing the caliber of player that he is is, there's nobody that should be criticizing him on that decision alone or placing the blame of the full loss on him from that turnover or, excuse me, from that block shot, in other words. Now, his turnovers did contribute, and that. That block shot, it did give the Knicks still an opportunity to, to do what we had to do. However, that didn't, that wasn't the cause of the 29 point deficit being erased. 80. I think it was like 79 points in the first half and like 29 or 28 in the second half for San Antonio. So those isolated plays did not lose them the game. Victor Wembanyama, he missed two free throws late again, young man. So early in the game, he's saying, mitch Mitchell Robinson, I'm in your head. I'm in your head. He gets a flagrant foul from Mitchell Robinson. He ends up giving cat elbow to the jaw. That gives him a flagrant. Is one flagrant away from being suspended. But you know, he, he missed two free throws at the end of the game. Pressure cooker. All right, you in MSG in New York in the Mecca. So all of those international games against Chet Holmgren, when you was on Team France in the Junior Olympics and all of those things, those may have contributed and helped to get to this moment, but there was some pressure that other night game, Game four, for you to knock down those free throws and you weren't able to. So now you see what we mean by experience and in these type of experiences shaping who you are moving forward. So although we did beat them, I did want to show them some love in that regard that, that, listen, you know, if anybody knows the feeling, we know we gave up our lead that we gave up to in Indiana last year and choked away that win. This was after a emotional Boston series that we had been through. So we know exactly the feeling. And that's why I'm not even gonna. There's nothing for me to clown with them. There's this. Your body and your mind do or make these choices when you're super, super fatigued and you're competing at the highest level that you wouldn't make in a regular. In regular scenarios. So I'm not gonna knock them for that. Salute, of course. And shout out to OG Anunoby. Brotherly love. Ogigwa. Shout out to OG Anunoby. I've said from the beginning, though, I felt like OG been a mix between Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam. I've always said that because his years in Toronto, his rookie year, championship year, he was the youngest on the team. But the team had who Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam and that was the year that they won the championship. So I did again, I've made that comparison in the past, but wanted to bring that back up. All right. The Cat for Finals MVP is still on the table, but it's in question right now because of og his heroics from the other night, the JB versus Wimy stuff. I bought this up the other night, the. The other show as well. Jalen Brunson has scored 61 against in San Antonio, his career high during Wimy's rookie year. San Antonio ends up winning. Wimy takes the basketball, throws it in the crowd. Okay. NBA Cup, WIMBY versus jb. Okay. Or regular season games, Wemby versus jb. So, so we have this kind of this, this back and forth in this rivalry physically, the way that they look, you know, WEMBY being 7 4, JB being maybe 61 on a generous day is 6 2. So you have that dynamic there as far as the storyline in the Finals. But I did want to bring this up outside of the Villanova boys connection that people always talk about on the Knicks, of course, wanted to still reiterate. Great, the early LA days. Excuse me, the early days of Josh Hart and Jordan Clarkson's career along with Julius Randall, Nick Young, d' Angelo Russell were in LA with Kobe Bryant on the latter half of his career, on the back nine of his career. So the things and the wisdom, the lessons that they may have picked up, these, this is Kobe not as aggressively competitive. In other words, this is Kobe in his like swan song or his like his retirement tour. So he wasn't in a hunt every day relentlessly for that championship. But he still, I'm sure that he imparted a lot of wisdom on those young men. Lastly, Mike Brown, of course, Mike Brown, championship, tried and true. Got one with Golden State. Draymond never lets us forget that. But also remember, he was coaching the Cavaliers with LeBron James and also out in Sacramento with a De' Aaron Fox or whatnot, a younger De' Aaron Fox. So just wanted to bring that up as well. Some of these connections and notes that I have from this past game, again, those, those prices make me sick. I truly do. But salute. Shout out to the Knicks. My merch is on the way. So if and when we do take care of business and finish this thing off, it will be no shortage of DJ High star photo shoots with a lot of this Nick's regalia on and paraphernalia, please believe me, you heard. So yeah, I got this jotted down. I'm just going to mention it. It's not even no story like that, but it is. Duke Dennis, Bike week. You too old, Duke. You're too old. Pack it up, my boy. All right. Ain't no way, boy. Ain't no way. Ain't no way, boy. Yeah, after a while, bike week, you gotta just. You gotta let them have it. You gotta let the youngins have it. You too old for that. [01:14:04] Speaker D: That. [01:14:04] Speaker A: You too old for that, Duke. All right, but look, let's go ahead and get into some brotherly love real quick. Like I mentioned earlier, shout out to the poker crew. Brotherly love to the poker crew. Hard Hat, T, Dog, Fat Boy, Q. It all came by. We were able to have a good poker night I hosted with the Oklahoma Joe and all of that. Had the gazebo out there and everything like that. We was playing this, so that was smooth. Brotherly love to my big cuz, my big cousin Rodney. We just came back from Baltimore this past weekend. He was celebrating his wedding and his wedding reception and stuff. So salute. Brotherly love to all of my cousins out there, though. Chris, BJ Jarell, like all of my. All of my cousins. Love y', all, man. Uncle Thomas. All right, Uncle Buck, seeing you out there. Big Cliff came in second place at jp, y', all. Fort Mill, South Carolina, Poker. Salute, of course. And brotherly love to Ashton. Like I mentioned earlier, brotherly love to our new listeners. So that's my boy, EL Hyde. Judge Brotherly love. Also TDOG looking for that email, man. Or something, man. You know what I'm saying? But yeah, brotherly love this week. I'm going to finish off the show before we do our prayer, though. But I'm gonna finish off the show with our Bisa B sides. Freestyle, I think. Or rather, let's do this. I'm on it again. Brotherly love. Oh, hold on. Brotherly love to Vince Staples. I may have to do a full. We don't got ran out of time today, but I got to do a review on Vince Staples crybaby album. I just listened to it a couple times today. It's fire. Brotherly love to Vince Staples. Of course. Brotherly love to Torre. Just randomly. Brotherly love to cousin Jerome. Brother love. The big Jerome, My father. Excuse me. Brotherly love. Mixmaster T. Of course. Brotherly love to sock my brother a butter. Just seeing him last week. A little cookout situation I was doing over here, calling the Joe's. All right. Brotherly love, though. Brotherly love. All right. Sisterly love to all of the sisters out there that's tuned in. Of course, I forget that, but sisterly love to all of the sisters that's tuned in. All right, so Reb, Amy, Deuce, Deuce, Coco with the Culture. Cheryl Poison, Patriot Trip Patty. Sisterly love to Asia. Sisterly love to Jada. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to y' all for popping out and coming through to the cookout. You know I appreciate y' all my sisters. All right, in this next part, it comes straight from the heart with supreme faith that's in God made. An ego and a hubris never break us apart. And from one brother to another, if nobody ever told you before, I love you. All right? [01:17:12] Speaker D: Right. [01:17:12] Speaker A: Peace, y'. All. Thank you again for joining me on mandatory overtime. Catch you next time. Peace. Hey, everybody, it's closing time. You don't gotta go home, but you can't stay here. [01:17:34] Speaker C: Closing time. [01:17:38] Speaker A: What do the knowledge. I know you going to dig this. Let me work. Please, let me work. Hey, you don't call the left champ. Use a freaky ass. Exactly. [01:17:57] Speaker D: Mama got that. [01:18:00] Speaker A: Exactly. Hip hop, hip, hop, hip hop.
