[00:00:03] Speaker A: Y Yo, what up bro? Y' all stand for O.T. yeah. Nah. Get that bread, bro. Y' all gotta stay for ot. Listen up workers. Overtime is mandatory this weekend. No excuses. Let me work. Please let me work. Let me work. Please let me. [00:00:31] Speaker B: Demon. [00:00:34] Speaker A: Like that. [00:00:34] Speaker B: Like that. [00:00:38] Speaker A: I'm a member of Omega Omega sci fi fraternity. Greta the tittle tattle prattled on about the little metal bottle she spat a bit of spittle on the modern Britain in a better battle. Hey, hey. Stop questioning my methods, okay? I was chosen for this task for a very good reason. No, you chose yourself. You can really do anything right about now. I don't give a fuck what's wrong with you. You can fucking like. Even if you cross side, you can make it. Did you understand that? Even if you cross eye. Take that down before I get a knock on my door. That man is the director of the FBI. He can do that. You can do anything cross eyed. And the director of the FBI? You can't even be a eyewitness. He working on everybody's case. He could work on my case. I'll be right in front of the judge, your honor. He looks distracted. Distracted. I a have a mic. I was in that Chevy. I was in that Chevy playing Savage Life Looking like I had it wrong. Now them know I had it right right? They don't know about some sleepless nights. I'm looking. What's up? What's up? What's up everybody? What's going on? What's going on y'? [00:02:43] Speaker C: All? [00:02:43] Speaker A: How's everybody doing? I'm your main man, DJ High Star and the place to be. Thank you for joining me once again for another episode of Mandatory Overtime. Here at Mandatory Overtime, the aim is for us to recalibrate our definition of manhood. And that's through the community. And that's through through each conversation with the community and the community, I mean you guys. So I appreciate you guys joining me. Of course, Cynthia. Audio journal of an 80s baby. Okay. Social experiment and consistency. You could have been anywhere in the world. But you're here listening to me. And for that I appreciate you as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for popping out once again. Don't confuse this with the manosphere. It's just the place where the man fair. So pull up a chair like comment, subscribe, Share. Most importantly, make some noise y'. All. Cause your man is here. You heard. You heard. Live from the 704 Charlotte America. What's happening? 980704. All of the area codes in the surrounding areas. It's been a couple of Carolina weekends, so shout out to the 910 as well. We got. What else we got 252. What else is out there? Hey, yeah, y' all know. Y' all know so love. Anyways, actually pulling a double shift today, yo. So I still got the same crudo, my Russian sound engineer, And a check 1, 2, a check 1, 2. Shout out to Cat Williams for the intro. Brotherly love. And also brotherly love to Nipsey Hussle posthumously for blessing us with. With a little bit of that. That track. It's called overtime, man. What's going on, y', all, though? What's happening? Let's go to work, y'. All. Let's go to work. Like I said, I'm pulling a double shift. There's a couple things I listen back to the episode. By the time you hear this, the other episode will be out. But it's just a couple things that, you know, I had to put in. Put in this double shift because I definitely missed some things this last episode. So, yeah, here we are, y'. All. So let's go ahead and get started. I guess let's look for some revisions and any kind of. See, with. With the revisions, it's going to kind of go into our get it off your chest segment. So I'll hold it for that. But we could go ahead and move right in to you men's and build some wisdom for the week. Real quick. [00:05:29] Speaker C: What's today's mathematics, yo? [00:05:30] Speaker B: No disrespect, but we ain't in all of that, son. Build. Destroy the builders. To elevate the mentalities of self and those around self. To add positive energy to every nation. To build, you must first start from the root, which is the knowledge foundation, and add on to the highest peak. To destroy is to eliminate and destroy any and all negativity that enters my cipher of supreme harmony. [00:05:52] Speaker C: Peace, God. [00:05:53] Speaker B: Peace, God. [00:05:56] Speaker C: I know you going to dig this. [00:05:58] Speaker A: All right, so this will be a little bit short, cuz again, this is a. It's a double shift that we pulling. But the first one is going to be from cousin Jerome in the group chat. Shout out to cousin Jerome with the consistency, of course. This is from Katherine Johnson. It says I don't have a feeling of infurity. Never had. I'm as good as anybody, but no better. I love that. And it's right on time with my messaging from the end of last episode. As far as faith over fear, I respect everybody and what everybody got going on. But at the Same time. Yeah. Nobody puts fear in my in my heart as long as I have faith. So I love that. Let's see here, one from Taz. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. That's from Henry David Thoreau. All right. And another one here from Shannon. Shannon Alder. Never give up on. Oh, that was. Yeah, we read that one last week. Never give up on someone with the mental illness. When I is replaced by we, illness becomes wellness. So that's good enough to double back real quick. Another revision in real time, though I didn't get to say it last week, but rest in peace to Keith Porter Jr. All right, so we're going to keep your name alive, brother. And let's see here. So let me just take a quick look. I'm a pause and come back real quick. Make sure that I don't have any videos or anything like that. All right. For building wisdom this week. Give me one second here. All right, so I do have a video that I am going to play, but I also wanted to just read a couple of things here that I've reposted in my Twitter and stuff. So I just wanted to mention the the originating tweet says hit me with the harshest reality truth. And what I reposted says slavery never ended. It evolved into a system that makes you believe you're free. Centuries ago, slaves worked all day with no pay, but they were fed and sheltered. Today you work all day, you get paid, then spend it all on food, water and shelter. The prison didn't disappear, it just rebranded. Old slavery chains on your body, new slavery chains on chains of debt, mortgages, student loans, credit cards. Debt is the modern whip. Your life is the cycle. Wake up, commute, work, collapse, repeat. You're told to be grateful for weekends. While elites buy back their time with your labor and every paycheck. Taxes, inflation, hidden fees take their cut. You keep scraps, they keep their wealth. They dangle luxuries to keep you chasing old slaves. Knew they were slaves. Most people today don't, so that was tough. Definitely. I want to go ahead and play this video. It's just it's stated five podcasts that keep me mentally sharp. From a brother, Umir Irfan U M I R I R F A N on Twitter. But yeah, let's go ahead and listen to this real quick. Y' all see. [00:09:15] Speaker B: One thing I refuse to do is to fall behind and be a victim of brain drop. So the next time you catch yourself doom scrolling, check out these five podcasts. I listen to instead to keep myself mentally sharp and agile. The first being the Founders Podcast. This is my favorite podcast to listen. [00:09:25] Speaker D: To in the world. [00:09:26] Speaker B: David Zenra is a brilliant host and he reads an autobiography of from a great founder or person throughout history, takes those notes and collates them before retelling them in a very insightful way. And he collates different themes from that autobiography and links them to other great founders and great people throughout history. So you then get these universal truths that you can then apply to your own life. The second one is Hidden Brain, which is a brilliant podcast. I've not heard too many people talk about it, but the host is a science journalist who asks questions that aim to understand how your mind and how the mind of people around you work. Essentially, they're deep diving into topics and questions I've always wanted to know the answer to, but not had the time to research myself. He often brings in experts of that particular field to answer these abstract questions and it's brilliant because you're able to understand yourself and society a lot more. Episode titles include things like why Conversations Go Wrong and you can appreciate how broad of a question it is, but it gives you very specific expert advice that you can apply to your own lives. The third one is a podcast called Sweat Equity. I really like this because I'm into business building and marketing and understanding how big businesses work around the world. Sweat Equity is brilliant because it has two experts in marketing talking about what's happening in the world of marketing and business at the moment. It essentially gives you up to date and marketing insight, but then also tells you how you can apply that to your own business, whether your business at a small, medium or very large level. Even if you're not a business owner, it essentially tells you what other businesses are doing to try and get your money. So it's good to be aware of the tactics and tricks they are using to avoid them as a consumer. The fourth is the Acquired podcast, and the acquired podcast is one unlike anything I've ever seen before. I think they only make one episode every month and it's a three to four hour episode in which both hosts go away and research a particular business or company in immense detail. They ring people who are familiar with the business, they go through every source they can find, interviews, books, etc. And then they come together. One host is semi scripted and has a general flow of how the podcast should go and then the second host often gives their own insights. They made episodes on Costco, on Google, on Rolex, so if you want to Know how any of these people took small businesses and made them into some of the most successful businesses of all time and the people skills required to do so. This is one I'd absolutely recommend. And the last one is the Danko Podcast, or the co Cast, I think he terms it. Danko is a brilliant creator, and he preaches the value of sitting down and writing for an hour a day in a very deep and focused manner. After consuming and collating information and researching things throughout the week, repurposing all of that insight that you've written about into videos, and he's created very successful solo businesses. This Code cast essentially talks about his life principles, his life philosophy, of what he thinks about the future and how you can apply all of those lessons into creating solo businesses for yourself. [00:12:01] Speaker D: And also. [00:12:05] Speaker A: All right, so the salute again to brother Umir Iran. I wanted to see that first one that he said. Just wanted to run that one back. Let's see here. Okay. All right, so I got number two is the Hidden Brain podcast. Hidden Brain. And then number three was Sweat Equity, of course. Number four was acquired. Name just simply acquired. And the fifth one was the Code Cast. K O E Cast. So the Code Cast. Let's see here. I want to go ahead and do number one Founders. Yeah. So shout out again. So if y' all are taking notes, it's Founders Podcast, Hidden Brain, Sweat Equity acquired, and the co Cast, just so that we can go ahead and expand our digital appetite, if you will. But let's go ahead and move forward. All right, so I did want to mention real quick because something else that I left out last week, one of the revisions, we. Random things, actually. Random things not heard on the work floor, but heard out at fishing in Lancaster. So he's with the guys fishing and stuff. And I forget the story that fat boy was telling, but however he was telling the story, it ended in him saying, and, you know, that's a future feature. Oh, he's probably talking about J. Cole's album, but he's like, you got a future Future feature. Say that seven times fast. You know what I mean? Which then commenced in me challenging myself to, you know, do the knowledge. So I was on some. Future Feature. Feature. Feature. Future Feature. Feature. Feature. Feature. Feature. Future Feature. Feature. Future. I mean, I challenge all you guys to do it, perhaps, you know, send in a voice note if you like, but Future Feature Feature. Future. Future. Future. Future. Future. Future Feature feature. Future. All right, that's enough. That's enough. So, yeah, random things heard out of fishing. When women think that guys Is out. And they're high strippers or something like that. Out at the fishing. At the fishing lake. We out there talking about some future. Feature. Feature. Feature, Feature. Feature. Feature. Feature. Feature. Fe. But anyways, I wanted to go ahead and move forward, y', all, with this Double Shift episode. I actually received an email as soon as I went to publish the episode today. So received the email this morning and a phone call from a man, Mixmaster T. So I wanted to go ahead and read that, y', all, and I'll go through that here. Let's go see. All right. The email reads, bro, I gotta give you your flowers. Let's give me my phones. Bro, I gotta give you your flowers. I've been locked in listening to mandatory overtime, and, man, you are absolutely killing it. The energy, the content, the whole vibe, you really created something special in this podcast space. Not everybody can step out and build something from the ground up and make it feel this real, this consistent, and it's interesting. Week after week, you're showing what passion, vision, and hard work looks like in real time. Yo, bro, seriously, I'm proud of you, for real. Keep going, keep pushing, and keep being you. Because depending on how you look at it, mandatory overtime is not working 40 plus hours a week, but a way of life in all facets of your life. Mix Master T. Yeah, I appreciate that, Mix Master T. Thank you, my brother. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So appreciate it. Sincerely, anybody that knows me, it's, you know, for a lot of people, you know, it ain't no fake humility here or fake humbleness. I'm truly humbled and I appreciate your words, bro. It means more than, you know. Honestly speaking, I'm going back over. Just catching. You really created something, especially in this podcast space. I appreciate that. You know, with audio now, but they want to make an announcement later. Not everybody can step out and build something from the ground up and make it feel this real, this consistent, and it's interesting week after week. I appreciate that. The interesting, you know, week after week, I. I leave that up to the. To the man above. But the consistency, that's one thing that we can all control, right? So my fault. Yeah, you gotta try. Okay. But, yeah, the consistency is something that we can control, so that's something that I strive. I strive to do. I wanted to go ahead and write this note down, but, yeah, again, I appreciate your Mixmaster T. And then the last line that you made, I wanted to go ahead and kind of zero in on that, because me and you kind of discussed it as well, but mandatory overtime is not just working 40 hours, 40 plus hours a week, but a way of life in all facets of your life. And he and I had a conversation earlier, awesome conversation. And we were discussing that again with mandatory overtime. Proverbially speaking, you know, putting in that extra work is not an option. In other words, if you're a real man, if you're a real man, doing the extra and going above and beyond for your family or those that you love, it's not an option for you, it's mandatory. Right. So again, I appreciate Derek and the conversation. Excuse me, Mix Master T. In the conversation that we had earlier. And also, of course, for him sending in that in the email, and remember, mandatory overtime, again, what he said is not working 40 plus hours a week, but a way of life and all facets of your life. If you're a real man out there, you know that there's certain things that's not negotiable that you can't. There's nothing. It's not an option for you. You know, it's mandatory. So shout out. Yeah. Once again, thank you again for that email, Mixmaster Tay. So I wanted to go ahead and call this part a discipline review for a couple of reasons. There's a couple things that was going on last week, and more specifically, the Hornets fight, the Hornets brawl. But some discipline has rained down from that. So I did want us to. To discuss that, but first, I guess we'll have first. Yeah, before we get all serious, we're gonna have a little bit of fun and. Let me see here. Okay, so it should be in here. Okay. So before we get all serious, though, I was discussing J. Cole's project last week. A lot of, At, I guess, adoration for the project, a lot of praise that I was giving the project. I just was very impressed with it, the concepts, what he did, delivering and stuff like that. However, there, there is, There's. There's one issue. There's one issue that, that I did that I didn't mention last week. Okay, let me work. Haven't heard. Let me work two times. Please let me work. Then. How do I put this, brother? We know your name. We. We know your name. Okay, We've. I don't know how, how many. I don't know if you. Reminding us of your name. I don't know if you, you're repeating it out there to remind yourself of your name. You got one of the blackest names that you can have. Okay, shout out to Mayno. All right, but you Mayno. And J. Cole. All right, Y' all the two most prominent. Well, in Jackson. But y' all are too hip hop. Yeah. Even with hip hop, y' all would. Y' all would be second and third to Jermaine Jackson. But y' all are the two hip hop representations for Jermaine, one of the blackest names in history. Okay, we know your name, bro. You can stop saying it on the tracks, my boy. All right, the track is it. I'm sorry that I even did this research. But it's named five times on the track. On the album, rather, you know, he. He name drops himself five times on the album. And mainly it's on the run a train track. You know, where he's. Again, the. Jermaine is kind of in the hook with Future. But you. You know about my passion. What do you know about my pain? What do you know about Jermaine? You know, and then all of the freestyles. And that's. So that's the album. That's not even counting the birthday blizzard. How many times you told us your name, bro? We know your name, bro. [00:21:48] Speaker C: Fame. [00:21:49] Speaker A: And I mean Jermaine. And the name Jermaine is saying Germaine, bro. We know, bro. So it's a healthy, healthy black name, bro. You get a lot of equity with the culture off of your name, bro. Okay. It's cool, man. Jermaine, you can get through a lot of rooms. Like, just for instance, for argument's sake, Jermaine versus Aubrey. You get in a lot of. A lot of black rooms with Jermaine without nobody looking at you sideways. And you got the locks, bro, the wicks or whatnot or whatever's going on. The freestanding locks. Jermaine, we know. Okay. Thank you, though. Thank you. So I. That I had to. That was actually a. Get it off my chest that I meant to do last week, y'. All. So shout out to you and brotherly love, too. Show love. It don't show nothing. It don't cost nothing to show a. I would, Jermaine. So let's go ahead and move forward. I wanted to. Go ahead. Give me one second real quick. So gonna get comfy in the office, get situated. Let me go ahead and get through the break room to the office. Part of me, y'. All. What's up? What's up, y'? [00:23:03] Speaker D: All? [00:23:04] Speaker A: We're not going to do it out for lunch this week either, y'. [00:23:06] Speaker D: All. [00:23:06] Speaker A: Just pulling the double shift. I don't got time to be eating. Excuse me, Pardon me, pardon me, pardon me. Give me one second. Y' All. All right, so first I got on my desk here is Hornets brawl fallout. Okay. Hornets brawl fallout. Get my papers together. I think. Yeah, I got rid of that sound effect. Shout out to perforated. All right, so wanted to read this from the Bleacher Report. Okay. The massive brawl in third quarter. The massive brawl in the third quarter of Monday's game between the Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Hornets resulted in the suspension of four players. The NBA announced on Wednesday that Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended seven games for leaving the bench to confront Hornets forward Miles Bridges, who received a four game suspension. Hornet center Musa Diabate and Pistons center Jalen Doran were also suspended for four games and two games respectively. All right. Stewart is a repeat offender who has previously been suspended for his conduct four times by the NBA, so it's no surprise that he received the harshest punishment. All four players were ejected from Monday's game, which Detroit end up winning 110, 104 to snap Charlotte's nine game win streak. Hornets head coach Charles Lee was also ejected in the fourth quarter after he had to be restrained while arguing with an official over a call. The frack had started when Dorin was fouled by d' ibate on a drive to the basket. The two of them got nose to nose before Doran shoved d' Abate's face with his open hand. D' Ibate refused to be restrained as he attempted to retaliate and both d' Abate and Bridges threw punches at Doranah who responded with a punch of his own. Stewart then left the bench to charge at Bridges who threw a punch before the two of them tussled. Now listen, all right, we're not gonna do that. It's revisionist history. Bridges threw a punch. Wait, wait, I'm trying to think. No, no, no. Stewart threw a punch, tried to connect Bridges. Weave, weave, weave. Excuse me. He. He. Yeah, yeah, he weaved it won't and went to scoop. Stewie rushed him. When he went to scoop him, he went to throw him up in the air. And, and you know, everybody was trying to break it up. That's. That's what really happened. All right. I was out there. It says Stuart was seen holding Bridges in a headlock while throwing multiple left handed blows to his head. After the Pistons win, Doran blamed the drama on an overly competitive game and claimed that his team has been tested throughout the season. See, you feel like y' all got the target on your back. Fake bad boys. I guess we trying to live it up and do that. Whole bad boys thing. Okay, okay, I see what you're doing during. They all hate us. It's all okay. Okay, buddy, you got it. You got it on that one. But you know what? Four game. I mean, no, you get two games here again, Musa Miles. Four games. Stewie, Seven games, man. Get up out of here. All right. Get up out of here. Exactly. All right, let me be quick with this next one here. Ja Rule, Yayo and Uncle Murder. Oh, it's just Giant Head. Bring Yayo and Murder in here as well and come in here. All right, so look, this is kind of open and shut. It was on a Delta flight. It really should stop with that. But they were on a Delta flight. I believe they're probably coming back from the super bowl, and they caught on the same flight. When I say they, I mean Uncle Murder and Tony Yayo, of course, Burton Ernie, they were behind. Sitting behind Ja Rule on a plane. So that's the first red flag for me. But secondly, they were antagonizing Ja Rule. There's different. Several different footage that came out. Excuse me, multiple footage that came out where it shows different kind of narratives and stuff like that. The one that I've seen, you know, you see edited or cut up versions where Tony Yayo and Uncle Murder are antagonizing Job. But then you'll see Ja Rule. You see other footage where Ja Rule is kind of, you know, whatever, standing on whatever. Nonsense. Standing on nonsense. That's what we'll start to call it. But he's standing on nonsense. I understand being a man and defending yourself, but, you know, again, we're on a plane, so I don't know if they was. If they left already, if the plane had been off the ground and they was in the air. But listen. Yeah, and I feel him. He was being. He was being antagonized. So that's because that's where we're going to get to. But that's what happened, right? In case anybody didn't know what happened. So I don't know where I wanted to start with this, but just picturing this and imagining this in my head, in my mind, or seeing the footage, rather. Two grown men, they're coming back from California, traveling to New York. People take for granted getting on a plane and the miracle that that is anyways, right. Whenever we depart and arrive in different cities, like land safely. So people take that for granted anyways. But you two grown men. Pretty sure, with families and stuff like that, when y' all are antagonizing a man. Now, first of All Tony Yayo. Yeah, you have, you have a dog in this fight, proverbially speaking. But murder? Where, bruh? Where'd you even coming from? Where's your, you know, whatever. You inherit the beef. Okay, I get it. Childish, but also, how old are y'? [00:29:21] Speaker D: All? [00:29:21] Speaker A: Right? So let's just put that into perspective. Whenever you think from a macro level, who's looking in? People that are just looking at this from the outside looking in. Oh yeah, two 50 year olds was on a plane bothering another 50 year old and it just looks bad. And then let's think about the names. Let's just, let's. Let's talk about the names real quick. All right? Ja Rule for those that don't know, I'm not a hundred thousand percent sure on the R U L E and what that is, but. Or maybe it's just rule, but. J A to Jazz for Jeffrey Atkins, however, it always was a great double entendre in his career with the name for just Ja Rule like, Like that always was biblically, you know, centered or kind of directed. In other words, you could always make that case. Uncle Murder, Tony Yale. This is who we're talking about. That's who you're known to the world as Uncle Murder and Tony. Yay, yo. Ah, like, you look like two flunkies out of a. A movie. Like, oh my gosh, like a bad 80s movie where y' all are running around as the villains looking to do 50s dirty work and stuff. It just looked bad. Didn't look manly at all. Okay, so I don't know. I'm done with y'. All. I'm done with y'. All. We'll figure out y' all discipline. But out of my office, man. Out of here. All right, all right. And lastly, Jeff Teague and Zaire Franklin, both y' all to come in here. Yeah, okay, all right, cool. Is Zaire coming in too? All right. Zaire, my frat brother. All right, so dog, you. You already know how we rock Zaire, and this is why I'm on your side from the jump. Now there's a back and forth between Zaire and Jeff on Club520. I. I didn't really want to pull the clips, honestly, because how cringy it is and, and everything. But I, I guess I have to give context for those that haven't seen it. So let me go ahead and give some context and show y' all here. Give me one moment or let y' all listen to some of the exchange between Jeff Teaguens I year on 520. Give me one quick second here. [00:31:58] Speaker D: Don't display my name. [00:31:59] Speaker A: That's all I'm asking you. [00:32:01] Speaker C: Good though. Do your thing. [00:32:04] Speaker A: You tough as well. [00:32:06] Speaker C: You didn't have to be there, bro. [00:32:07] Speaker A: It's a football day. It's a football day. [00:32:09] Speaker C: Football day. On 520 you can get the out of here. If I don't give a. [00:32:12] Speaker A: That's what you want. [00:32:13] Speaker C: I could be. [00:32:14] Speaker D: That's what. [00:32:15] Speaker A: In this video, Jeff Teague argues with Z. Franklin about if there's legitimate. All right, so that just gives a little bit of context. But y' all heard Jeff Teague just some of the digs that he was making toward the end of their exchange. That was the end of the exchange. But he's, you know, whenever it's concluded on, you could get the F out like I don't know and it's 520 is Club 520. But you could get out and you know, this, this, this 520 ain't got to be no football going on. I think both egos were inflated during the exchange. It started off on some friendly back and forth stuff. However, the, the contentious nature of professional athletes, like they're going to, they, they. Their bravado and stuff. They're going to go back and forth. So Jeff was talking about the money aspect of things. Zaire starts talking about accomplishments and what he's accomplished thus far. Jeff tries to, I don't know, he just dismisses him with calling him Zaire Smith. [00:33:21] Speaker D: And. [00:33:24] Speaker A: With us in the community, that's, that's one of the things that you can do, like I don't even know this guy type stuff to diminish somebody's character in public and you know, to make someone feel bad or whatnot. So that's what was being done, you know, in public and, or on the show publicly. And to me, Jeff Teague wears the name of that show. 5:20 is Jeff Teague. He has his co host and stuff but it is Jeff Teague. So he wears that brand and that, that was a stain on the brand in that moment. Now Jeff Teague has come back to apologize. So you know, kudos to him for that. Let me see if I can play some of the apology because it was a manly thing to do. Well, let's see here. Give me one second. I'm hoping I could find a short for that. Yeah, here we go. Let me play this real quick. [00:34:18] Speaker C: Me and him go back and forth every day on and off camera, shout out to Z, yo, that's my Dog, me and him go back and forth every day on and off camera about basketball topics and football topics. We always compare who got what, who do what. So shout out to him. It's all love. We dapped up yesterday after the show. We all talked about these niggas got on my ass yesterday. Mike got on my ass talking about, hey, he can go when I said that or whatever, nigga. He was like, nigga, we five, two, and we all won. So I appreciate that. And I apologize to him last night about the show, about disrespecting his name because he. He's a die hard about his legacy and what he want to build and all the things that he got going for the Franklin. So I apologize to him about that. Y' all know I don't give a. About my accolades and all that. So whatever he said to me, it's all good. I ain't giving a. [00:35:03] Speaker A: Come on, man. [00:35:04] Speaker C: Yeah, and nobody's iron would be here on the Tuesday, but he is on vacation. My boy is free. Obviously, the coast wasn't on, so he is enjoying his time, man. Shout out to my boy Z. He'll be back soon for sure. But, T, they said you the reason for the cause, man. They said, energy you put out yesterday went across the NBA, man. Let's get to it. The Pistons took care of the horses, all right? [00:35:22] Speaker A: So, yeah. So again, salute as brotherly love to the way that they resolve that. Because that's another thing that I wanted to mention about the Ja Rule situation. All of this is in public. It's on public display, and it's two. Again, two black men that's. That's going against each other in public. And. And for public consumption, whenever the Ja Rule and Tony Yayo Uncle Murder stuff happened, a red flag went up to me. Like, how is these flights being booked and these people are. Oh, you know, still being in these compromised positions and stuff like that. And it's just. I don't know. I don't know. I was with. Let me see here. Yeah, I was just like, is this a damn conspiracy? Because every time. Like, why are we seeing celebrities, established celebrities in these. In these positions, in these compromise positions? So, yeah, I just wanted to mention that. Let's see here. All right, so y'. All. Y'. All. Y' all are free to go. Lastly, the Shakur. The Shakur. The whole Shakur card. Y' all come on in here. So Shakur Stevenson, he fought the other weekend. I never really got a chance to discuss it on the show, but wanted to go ahead and talk about some of the results from the card. Let me see here. Give me one quick moment. All right, thanks for your patience. So, yeah, the card happened on January 31st. So the main event, Shakur Stevenson defeated tiafimo by a 1212 round unanimous decision. So he got a UD 119, 109 on all cards and he became the Junior Welterweight champion or received the WBO Junior Welterweight title. Let's see here. Keyshawn Davis defeated Jermaine Ortiz, a 12th round TKO, the body shot to the kidneys. So that was. That was fire that, that particular fight. Bruce Carrington, Shushu Carrington, defeated Carlos Castro via 9th round knockout. Tough, beautiful. Shout out to Brooklyn. Where Brooklyn at? And then also Jarell Miller, he defeated Kingsley at IB or I B via split decision. And I believe the way he talked, he's from Brooklyn too. So shout out to all of those gentlemen that won't, of course, Stevenson, Shakur, I don't know. I guess he. He was able to score. He's a. He's a technical fighter, so he was able to do a lot of scoring and stuff like that with his card. But Keyshawn Davis, he went to 140 with in his fight. And then of course the Shushu Carrington fight. Bruce Carrington, Rather from Brooklyn, he. He did his thing. That's a young up and coming star. Reminds me of a young Bug Crawford or Zap Judah. Like there's. There's a lot of people that he remind me of. But yeah, salute to those brothers that, that got busy. But we had to talk about Jarell Miller real quick. I don't know if y' all saw any of those clips, but Jarell Miller, he. He lost his. His wig, his top. His top came off during their fight. It was, it was taped on or something. I don't know. I don't know. But I just come here to say my brothers, I guess we got him a round of applause for that. So, yeah, just. Just had to play that for your man Jarell Miller for. For losing his to pay during the fight. He did finish and he did win the fight, but it wasn't being taken seriously. So I think that's gonna do it. For our discipline review for the week, I did want to ask an engagement question here at the end of the EP or at the end of the show, rather. This is going to be. It's going to sound pretty trivial or whatnot, but it'll still kind of give us. Awesome. Some good information from each other. The question that I have for you all men and women, y' all can respond and and email us here, but the question is, if you had a chore that was done for you for the rest of your life, which chore would it be? If you just had a chore that could be done for you and taken care of for you for the rest of your life, forgive me again for the trivial nature of the question, but it's engagement. So y' all let me know the the chore that you would have somebody you know if you could have it that be done for you for the rest of your life and wouldn't have to worry about it. Which chore would that be? Now you can email us here at mandatory ot704gmail.com it's mandatory ot704gmail.com follow us on IG at mandatory OT. You can answer the the question through there, or you could just simply call the hotline 7047-8170-1170-4781-7011 and leave us a message and we'll make sure that it gets played on air. All right, so we'll go ahead and do that. All right. So wanted to go ahead into move forward real quick this week with our High Star Bars. Give me one second here. Let me pull this up. All right, Our High Star Bars here is just going to be a quick, you know, kind of moment here from my brother, Justin Hunt, the company man salute to Justin Hunt, Culture United, everything that they do. But this week is going to come from Justin Hunt. It's one of his shorts or clips that he has on out there circulating on social media right now when he's talking about immigrants versus involuntary versus voluntary, quote unquote, or immigrants versus slaves. So let's take a listen real quick. Shout out to Black History Month once again, y'. All. Let's see here. [00:41:51] Speaker D: True. I mean, that's true. I've talked about this, and that's true. I mean, that's true. I've talked about this for years on this channel. Now, black people didn't come here for opportunity. We were the opportunity, right? Black Americans, culturally, black Americans, descendants of enslaved people here. And it's a unique population. That's one thing that I really do appreciate about these conversations around freedmen, around Solon, around ADOs, around FBA. The thing I appreciate most about these conversations is that as a people, as a people, it's important to me. And I'm also very happy to hear that black people are starting to embrace our unique history and basking in it I mean, for so long, we've had so many various populations of people, wherever they might be from, even including people here who would say things like, go back to Africa, who would treat us as if we're these lost souls who don't know where we're from. And that is a pattern that has, you know, sustained generations here in America. And so I love the idea, love the idea that black people from America, descendants of enslaved people from America, are embracing that lineage. I think it's amazing. And in that regard, it is unique, right? Just like being from the Caribbean is unique. Being from Jamaica is different than maybe being from Barbados, but they're both unique. Being from Africa is unique. Being from Kenya versus maybe South Africa are different, but they're both unique. And that's the same thing. That's the same thing here in America. And so a large part of this discussion here, as Bernice King pointed out, is people flattening that story, making it seem as if everybody here came for a better opportunity. But black people didn't come here for opportunity. We were the opportunity. [00:43:21] Speaker A: If you're boycotting Netflix. So salute to the company, man, Justin Hunt, for that. Wonderful words, brother, and just wanted to show you some brotherly love on that show. Love? It'll show nothing. It'll cost nothing to show a you love. So I wanted to salute to my brother out there, my brother Dale, man, one of my good, good church brothers, man, and got engaged this the past week, or I just found out on. Shout out to Chris. Chris. Shout you out, man. One of my. One of my new mentors, y'. All. Speaking of. Though I did want to make an announcement here toward the end of the show before we close out. We are approaching officially 24 hours of overtime. I know that we already technically have 24 hours in of overtime because of the chance reviews, but we're. We're right at about 24 hours of overtime. Although this episode will be episode 2200 and I'm going to be looking to move forward into the video space. So as we do that and as we move forward into that, wanted to give y' all the heads up and that will be doing that. I'm going to go ahead and probably put an announcement on Facebook in the coming. Probably week or so. Still have to get together the. The whole visual vibe and all of that. But the important thing is what we can control. We're going to continue to control. So we still going to be consistent as far as getting this workout to y'. All. You feel what I'm saying? And. And putting in this work, doing this mandatory over time. So you know, I want to go ahead and end everything with supreme faith that's in God. This prayer is straight from the heart. May the ego and the hubris never break us apart. And from one brother to another, if nobody ever told you before, I love you. All right. Appreciate y', all, man. Thank you once again for tuning in to mandatory overtime. Catch y' all next time. She main man DJ Highstar. Peace. Hey, everybody, it's closing time. You don't got to go home but you can't stay in. Closing time knowledge I know you going to dig this. Use a freaky ass. Damn, son.
